Is there anything better than the smell of fresh-cut wood?

That smell is one of my earliest memories while I played on the floor of my grandpa’s garage. He would sweep all the soft sawdust from his latest project into a pile for me to make designs and form mountains. As I got older, he taught me to work on projects of my own. I’d stand at the scroll saw, his patient hands guiding mine, while we cut out the shape we wanted. Then I’d go inside and paint it with my grandma. We’d sit at the kitchen counter with an array of brushes and colors to help make our imagination come alive.

Those memories sparked a lifelong passion for art and making things with my own two hands. For years I dreamed of a workshop to call my own, where I felt empowered to create all the wild ideas that ran through my mind. That’s how The Wildwood came to be; with an idea and the drive to make it come to life.

My goal has always been to create something bespoke and interesting. Something that might cause someone to pause and take a closer look. A statement. I like to let the beauty of the wood speak for itself while adding layers of hidden surprises and thoughtful design.

This is just the beginning of my journey as a maker and artist, but the foundation was laid decades ago on my grandpa’s sawdust-strewn floor.
